SSDM was engaged by Hamilton Boys High School to provide an overview of sports field drainage and turfgrass options currently available in New Zealand, with specific reference to upgrading the school’s eight soil-based playing fields. The work carried out by SSDM included a site visit to assess the existing playing field quality and turfgrass cover, assess the condition of the existing drainage infrastructure, examine the provision for irrigation and review usage demand for the fields. A comprehensive feasibility report was produced which summarised the results of the assessment and a recommended course of action for developing the fields.
