Timeframe: 2006-2009

SSDM was commissioned by landscape archiects, Boffa Miskell, to provide a customised design solution for this high profile civic lawn in the CBD of Auckland City. The design and turf selection had to take into account the challenging environmental and client requirements such as shade, high foot traffic and access difficulties.

The work involved preparing drainage, irrigation and turfing specifications as well as supervision of the lawn installation. Since completion, the much-used open space has received several landscape awards for its role as an 'urban oasis' within the CBD.
