Jack's Point Golf Course
Project: Golf green profile and drainage design, Jack’s Point Golf Course
Client: Darby Partners, Queenstown
Timeframe: 2005
SSDM was commissioned by Darby Partners in 2005 to provide a comprehensive review of the California greens’ construction system (including advantages and disadvantages) relative to the USGA golf green construction system. The review included recommendations on the suitability of the system for Jack’s Point Golf Course, advice on the suitability of the local rootzone material, recommendations on rootzone amendment, and advice regarding specific construction detail. The design had to take into account local weather and climatic conditions, a very tight construction programme and availability of local materials.
