In 2011, SSDM carried out a soil survey across Sunnynook Park in Auckland in preparation of proposed SW detention pond works at the park. In 2017, earthworks started on the park which involved the lowering the park approximately 2m to allow for over 50,000 cubic meters of storm water storage to protect downstream properties.

SSDM provided sports field design and project management services to Auckland Council to deliver four sand carpet sports fields once major earthworks were completed. All the couch sports fields opened to the public in Autumn 2020.
