SSDM was engaged by Hamilton City Council to provide turf-related expertise for the staged development of an existsing greenfields site in Rototuna (Hamilton). The Project marked a firts of its kind in the city and sought to develop a 8 Ha pastureland into a state-of-the-art multifunctional recreational facility for local schools, sport steams and the wider community.

The principal engineers to the project were Aecom and SSDM workd in conjunction with Aecom landscape and stormwater design teams to produce a set of site specific specifications for teh development of 4 soil sports fields, 1 sand carpet sportsfield and a proposed artificial (multi purpose) platform.

The project has entered its first stage of civil works and over the coming years the proposed development of the site into a multifunctional resource for the city shall continue.
