Ecological Appraisal of Carrington Resort

Project: Golf Course Ecological Appraisal

Client: Peppers Resort Carrington, Northland

Timeframe: 2016

SSDM were engaged by The Peppers Resort, Carrington to provide a detailed Phase 1 Habitat & Ecological Appraisal of the golf course which identified the following key factors:

 

  • Identification of the existing diversity and condition of habitats across the golf course.
  • Provision of a 'Phase 1: Habitat Survey'.
  • Provision of a data base that identified the range of key flora and fauna existing on the site and locations (a focus upon pest and endangered species).
  • Provision of high level recommendations focussing upon how  the ecological and biodiversity value of the site could be further enhanced.

In this particular instance the resort management company were in the process of applying for Resource Consent (RC) to further develop the range of facilities available on-site. As a componnet of the application process SSDM was engaged to provide the Client with a site specific ecological appraisal, identifying the key ecological factors (listed above).
